Half Year

Today I have been in Australia exacly 6 months. Its 67 days to the end of the year and 182 when my visa expires.
When I started from highly populated Brisbane it didnt seem so different. But its a big country, slightly bigger than Europe and so far I have traveled only 1/3 around it.
Now I am in Northen Territory with population only around 0,2 mil and bit over half of them in capital Darwin. With land area bigger than Spain, France and Germany all together makes it least populated state in Australia. 0,15 people per km2 vs. 29 in Estonia.

There is no endless sandy deserts as you may think. Most of the land quite usable, just savanna and rocks with small trees and sandy soil as you can see from pictures.
Not many legendary venomous creatures also. Especially when you stay in the city you probably dont see them at all. Though you have to choose swimming place carefully. Even when hardly any accidents happen they still happen. Average 0,7 people killed by crocodiles next to 1 by sharks per year. Mostly due to wrong behaviour by the victim. Total 13 deaths by spiders and 8 by snakes ever. So probably you will survive even when you walk around with your eyes closed.

I spend most of my days in Darwin preparing my way to south by west coast. Its around 35C and 75% humididy but its getting warmer and more humid day by day. Have to cool myself down in Lake Alexander and drink lot of water to keep my body liquids normal. Its too easy to get dehydrated and dizzy when brain stops working and you cant focus anymore.
Its fullmoon in two days so I have get my self together and start moving.
